In 7 days I will be driving down the MTC to begin my 18 month mission. I cannot wait to start this new point on my life. Although I doubt words can fully explain what I want them to, I am going to try. This next week no doubt is going to be pretty busy getting the last few things ready to go. The more I pack and get things put away the more I come to realize, my mom was right, I have no idea what I am doing. Once again looking back I should have listened to her a lot sooner :)
Speaking of my mom, I just need to say what an amazing woman she is. When I sit and think about it I am baffled at all she does for me. I am humbled daily by the selflessness of the things she does for her biological children, and now the children she has taken in from her current mission. I love her, she is amazing, and there is no chance in the world that I would be where I am without her. I would not be in a position to serve a mission without her amazing example and love that shows everyday. I am eternally grateful for her amazing example. Mom I love you, thank you for everything, thank you for not giving up on me when I fought you at every step. Your amazing I love you.
I am sitting here thinking of what I want people to know me as before I leave. I know I am coming back in 18 months. But I think with all my joking, people may have misunderstood a lot of my reasons for why I am going on my mission and I want it clear and known for everybody who knows me.
I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am an active member and believe all beliefs that go along with this church. I have a firm testimony of The True Church, and I am going out to share this with the People of Oregon because I know in my heart that this what I want to do and It is also what the Lord wants me to do. I love the gospel with all my heart and will never go away from it.
I am grateful for all my amazing Family and Friends that have helped me get to this point. It has been a growing experience that has been in the making over the past few years. My family is such a strength to me in ways that no one else could be. I love having the support of 6 siblings, 2 in laws, and 2 amazing parents. My extended family is also awesome! I have met people along the way that will never know they helped me, and some that I cannot thank enough for all they have done. Please know that if you are a friend of mine you have helped me become who I am and I am thankful to all of you.
I am so filled with gratitude right now towards everyone in my life. Please know that if we know each other, I am thankful for you. And you have helped me become who I am. I am thinking like back to primary days here I freaking loved primary! I guess we never really have any idea of the effect we have on people.
Anyways, I love you all. This blog will be on hold for 18 months, but please add this blog to your reader.
My Mission Blog
My Sister will be updating that weekly with my letters, pictures, or any new news about my mission. Depending on mission rules, I dont know if I will be allowed on it, but if you comment on it I will have her email them to me... I don't know I will have her work things out.
So This is it, Until I decide next tuesday to do one more farewell writing with pictures of my last week :)
